We host a wide range of events, from coffee mornings and hikes to creative workshops and surfing days. Each event is designed to bring people together and celebrate the best of Derry and Donegal.

Do you run events outside of Derry?

Yes! We occasionally host events in Donegal, usually within an hour’s drive of Derry. If you’re looking for events closer to home, check out other community groups here.

What’s the future for Derry Meet Ups?

Our vision is to sustainably grow the Derry Meet Ups community into a fully self-sufficient organisation with official UK social enterprise status. This will allow us to reinvest at least 50% of our profits back into the community, addressing issues that are unique to Derry and its people.

By turning loneliness into community action, we aim to create meaningful change, one connection at a time, while continuing to bring people together through events and shared experiences.

Tickets are always sold out so quickly—what can I do?

Our events are very popular! To secure tickets, you can take advantage of our pre-sale perk by becoming a member or sign up for our newsletter. You can also turn on notifications for our social media pages to stay updated as soon as events are announced.

How does your pricing structure work?

We work closely with businesses to ensure their costs and profits are prioritised. A £5 admin fee is then added to ticket prices to cover the time and costs of running the community. If you’re a member, this £5 fee is removed as part of your membership perks.

In the early stages, Derry Meet Ups was a voluntary initative, with ticket prices going directly to the collaborating businesses. This allowed us to build a strong community and gather feedback on what worked best.

Now, we’re excited to grow Derry Meet Ups, working towards becoming an official Social Enterprise, and once sustainable, reinvesting a percentage of profits back into the community. Monetising the group means we can improve events, provide exclusive perks for members, and make a bigger impact in Derry.

You can still attend without a membership, but members enjoy discounts, local perks, an exclusive online community and early access to events!
